  • Squished into the Mold!

Do you remember playing with playdough? It comes out of the can in a messy looking lump of nothing. But you can take it and make it into whatever you imagine. There are people who are actually masters at playdoh! They can create a work of art with it. As a kid, putting it into a mold and putting pressure to form something recognizable was like a miracle in my eyes.

But you know, the Word of God says ...not to be pressed into the mold of this world any longer...don't conform to this world...but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. It is easy to just go with the flow and be like everyone else. But God has something better for your life. A purpose that has eternal benefits...Get in God's word, connect with God's people and let God transform your mind.

We asked our 6 to 6th graders this question, "How do we sometimes think and act like those who are not following Jesus?" Here are some of the answers they gave....

***talking back to teachers, parents, authority figures.
    ***fighting with brothers
***using bad language, (that you hear on tv or read in books)
***visiting the wrong places on the internet
    ***disobeying God's word (the Bible)
    ***gossip (talking about others)
    ***reject new people
***watching TV programs with bad stuff in them
    ***smoking or using drugs
    ***lie,steal,cheating, hurting one another
***listening to music with wrong messages and bad words
    ***not studying
    ***strong rated games
    ***not reading the Bible
    ***wrong friends (bad influences)
    ***not loving people
    ***not going to church
    ***worshipping idols
    ***not respecting parents

That is what kids had to say....WHAT DO YOU THINK? Write me and let me know

  • Hogzilla!

A couple of weeks ago, Kali and I went to Sumter with a couple of other people...Kali "picked" this pig (boar) from 4 others about 100 yards away. Thanks for the 243... Martin! I was so proud of my youngest daughter who has been hunting with me since she was 4 yrs old. She is now 14. She has come a long ways since the days of packing lots of snacks, a Game boy, coloring books and lots of other stuff to occupy her attention. She often sees the harvest animal before I do...in fact almost every time she goes with me, we see game.  I think she is my good luck charm!

It was the most fun at a "pig pickin" I have ever had!

    Love you K

  • God @ the Movies

God @ the Movies has been a blast for the Assembly City kids.   Greatly different from the Power Lab VBS that was also a huge success!  We have looked at the positive and negative messages found in a couple of Hollywood's best kid flicks.   Parent's have enjoyed the "wrap up" at the end of our creatively fun night.
I can't wait for next week.  See you there kids!

  • Kunfu Panda - Skadush!

Went to see that movie today with my youngest daughter and some nieces and a nephew.   The little guys laughed and laughed.  So did a lot of the big people in the room.  There were some really funny moments and they even tried to get a great point across.  Take your kids to see it...you will have a great time with them there.
